How often does DataCamp offer promos?
DataCamp runs promotions periodically throughout the year, though there is no fixed schedule. We recommend checking email announcements or our site banners around your renewal date for special offers.
Does DataCamp offer student discounts?
Yes! Eligible students can receive a discounted annual rate on a Premium subscription. Visit the student discounts article to verify your eligibility and complete the academic verification process.
What if I signed up with the wrong email address?
If you used a personal or non-academic email and want to switch to your student email for a discount:
Log in with the email you used at sign-up.
Update your account email in Account Settings → General to your valid academic email.
Log out and sign in again with the updated academic email.
Return to the student discount page and complete the verification process.
Important: Do not create a new account. Progress, subscriptions, and pricing eligibility cannot be transferred between accounts.
I have an active subscription. Can I take advantage of the current promo?
No—existing subscriptions, including group or individual plans, are not eligible for new offers. You’ll need to wait until your current term expires to take advantage of new promos.
Can the current promo be applied once my active subscription ends?
Yes, but you must wait until your current term ends before repurchasing. Subscriptions cannot be stacked or pre-purchased before expiration.
Can I pay in monthly installments rather than one lump sum?
No, promotional pricing applies only to the annual plan and requires full upfront payment. Monthly subscriptions are billed per month and are not eligible for promotional pricing.
Can I take advantage of an expired promo?
No—the current promo cannot be applied retroactively to expired discounts. We periodically offer new promotions, so keep an eye on emails and site banners.
Can I combine discounts?
Each account can only benefit from a discount at a time, and discounts cannot be combined or stacked.
If I end my current subscription to get a promo, will I keep my progress?
Yes—your account's progress is preserved even if you cancel. After the term ends, you can resubscribe and pick up where you left off.
I canceled my subscription, but I’m not eligible for the promo yet. Why?
After canceling, your subscription remains active until the end of the billing cycle. You must wait for that cycle to fully expire to qualify for new promotional pricing.
I am part of a Business or Academic group. Can I purchase a discounted subscription independently?
If you are currently assigned a group license, you cannot hold an individual Premium subscription simultaneously. Ask your group’s admin to remove your team license before purchasing a student or individual plan.
Does the discount only last for one year?
It depends on your plan type.
Business & Teams Plans: Yes. These plans may include a first-year promotional discount, but renewals and reactivations revert to standard pricing after the first year.
Note: Promotional pricing only applies to purchases made directly on our website via credit card. All invoice purchases are exempt from promotional pricing.
Individual Premium Plans: You can check your renewal rate anytime on your Account Settings /Subscriptions page.
Why is the price I saw at checkout different from the advertised promo rate?
The lower monthly rate you saw is likely the annual subscription price displayed as a monthly breakdown. This plan is billed once per year, not monthly. In contrast, the higher monthly rate is the standard monthly subscription, which is billed monthly and does not include promotional pricing.
When you see different prices, it’s because DataCamp offers monthly and annual payment options for individual premium subscriptions. The yearly plan offers better value when broken down monthly, but requires a one-time upfront payment for the whole year.
Promotional prices are typically shown as monthly rates but are billed annually.

I want to purchase an individual subscription and my Company wants to pay. How do I do it?
If your organization has approved the purchase (especially with the promotional price), you can process the purchase with your personal payment method of preference, and then share the Invoice internally for reimbursement with your company. Alternatively, you would need to be provided a card or a PayPal account from your company to be able to pay for the individual subscription purchase.
