Managing Multiple Accounts on DataCamp (Account Merging Guidance)

If you’ve created more than one DataCamp account—perhaps by using different emails, signing up through social platforms, or switching between work and personal addresses—here’s what you need to know.

Can I merge multiple DataCamp accounts?

No, DataCamp does not support merging accounts. Your learning progress, XP, certificates, and subscriptions are tied to each unique account and cannot be transferred.

Instead, we recommend reviewing your accounts and choosing the best path forward using the options below.

1. Swap your email address

If you’d like to keep your progress from one account but use a different email address, you can follow this article to update your email address: How do I change my login email address?

If you already have an account with the email address you wish to use, you may have to delete it.

Pressing the delete button can be a bit stressful, if you're unsure, follow the steps below:

  • Contact DataCamp Support from both email addresses (cc your alternative email address) to verify ownership.

  • Once verified, we can update the email address on your main account.

  • The other account must be deleted to free up the email—this is permanent and cannot be undone.

Once the email is available, we’ll apply it to your active account so you can log in with your preferred address.

2. Choose which account to keep

If you have progress across multiple accounts:

  • Compare which account holds the most XP, certificates, or completed courses.

  • Decide which account to continue using.

  • You may choose to delete the others, especially if they’re inactive or not linked to a subscription.

Reminder: Deleting an account is irreversible and removes all data tied to it.

3. Transitioning to a business subscription

If you're joining a DataCamp team subscription:

  • You can update your email to your work address in your account settings to align with your organization. Please see: How do I change my login email address?

  • If your work email is already tied to another account, our Support team can help swap the email addresses and fix the issue.

Best practices for managing your accounts

  • Always use the account with the most progress to avoid confusion or duplicate charges.

  • Avoid creating multiple accounts by double-checking your login method and email address.

  • Contact support if needed—we’re happy to help with email swaps, account verification, or deciding which account to keep.
