How do I change my login email address?

If you would like to change, add or update your email address, you can do so at any time from the Account Settings.

If You Log In using Email & Password or Social Login (Google, Facebook, etc.)

If you log in with an email and password or through a social login (Google, Facebook, etc.), you can update your email directly in your account settings.

Steps to Change Your Primary Email:

  1. Log into your DataCamp account.
  2. Click on the down-facing arrow next to your profile picture or avatar.
  3. Select "Account Settings".
  4. Under the "Email" section in General, update your email address to your new login email address.
  5. Click "Save Changes".

Once updated, you can log in using your new email.


If You Log In with SSO (Single Sign-On - Company Login)

If your account is linked to an enterprise group that uses Single Sign-On (SSO), your email is managed by your company.

Important: You cannot change your login email while still in an SSO-enabled organization.

Steps to Change/Update Your Email to a Personal Email:

  1. Request Removal from Your Organization
    • Contact your Organization Admin and request to be removed from the Enterprise group you are currently a member of. 
    • Until you are removed, your login will remain restricted to SSO.
  2. Change Your Email to a Personal Email (after removal from the Organization)
    • Log into your DataCamp account.
    • Click on the down-facing arrow next to your profile picture or avatar.
    • Select "Account Settings".
    • Update your email address to your personal email.
    • Click "Save Changes".
  3. Purchase a Subscription (if needed)
    • Once removed from the organization, you can purchase an individual subscription (monthly or yearly) to maintain access to your progress.

If you have not yet been removed from your Business Organization, you won't be able to purchase an Individual Subscription. You must contact your Admin to request removal first.


Unable to change the email: “That email is not available.”

Background 

This error occurs when the email you’re trying to use is already linked to an existing DataCamp account. Since each email must be unique, it cannot be used to replace your current email address.

Workaround 

  1. Log in to the account associated with that email.
  2. If you no longer need that account, you can delete it to free up the email address.
  3. Once the account is deleted, you can update your current account’s email to the now-available email.

Important: Deleting an account is permanent and will erase all learning progress and data associated with it.
