What are Custom Tracks?
Custom Tracks are a feature available for DataCamp Enterprise subscribers. It allows Organization administrators to create a dedicated learning path for their members based on DataCamp Premium courses.
How do I create a Custom Track?
- Navigate to your DataCamp Organization
- Click on Custom Tracks > Create a Custom Track
- Fill out all of the required information (Title, Description, Badge information etc.)
- Add your Content (This can be done from the search bar or from the green Add Content button)
- Click on Actions > Publish Track
Can I add courses I have created to Custom Tracks?
Yes! You can add courses that you have created to Custom Tracks. However, you cannot add other Open Courses to Custom Tracks. Custom tracks do not currently support individual chapters, projects, or practice challenges.
Why don't I see the option to add Custom Tracks?
In order to add Custom Tracks, you must have the Administrator role in an Organization. Your organization must also be signed up under a DataCamp Enterprise subscription.
Can I edit Custom Tracks once they've been created?
Yes and no. Custom Track content cannot be edited after being created. This is the intended behavior. The reason we have this limitation in place is to avoid confusion and loss of progress if someone has already initiated the Track in question.
While you cannot edit Custom Track content, you can edit information like Title, Description, Badge information etc. This can be done by navigating to Custom Tracks, clicking into your Track and selecting Actions > Track Settings.
What else can I do with Custom Tracks?
Once your Custom Tracks have been created, you can do things like view the Track, duplicate it and archive it if it is no longer in use. This can be done by clicking into your Track and selecting the Actions button. Archived Tracks can be edited and re-published from the Archived tab.
Can I share my Custom Track with someone outside of my Organization?
No, Custom Tracks are Organization specific. If a Custom Track is shared with someone outside of your Organization, they will not be able to access it.
