Where can I download the code and datasets used in a course?

Code

The code that you have entered in the course exercises cannot be downloaded. You can, however, access it at any time by navigating directly to the exercises where you entered it and copying and pasting it to a secure location.

Datasets

The instructor shares the available datasets on the course dashboard, where you can find them in the resource section.

I can’t find the dataset shown in the video, where can I access it?

The downloadable resources include datasets for exercises to replicate on your local machine. The datasets used in the video may be for demonstration purposes and are not always provided for download. Both are designed to cover the same concepts.

Why are the provided/downloaded datasets different from or not the same as the ones used in the course exercises?

At DataCamp, we prioritize learning by doing. That’s why the datasets used in our instructional videos are often different from those in the exercises. In videos, instructors typically use simplified or illustrative datasets to demonstrate key concepts effectively. In contrast, the datasets used in exercises are pre-processed and carefully designed to help you practice specific skills—such as data visualization—without unnecessary complexity.

This approach ensures that after watching a concept being applied, you get a chance to reinforce your understanding by working with a different dataset on your own. It’s all part of our commitment to helping you gain hands-on, practical experience.
