How do I join my group?
The Business group's admin typically manages and sends out invitations to join groups. This is often an organizational leader within your company or your employer's Learning and Development team. The joining process is usually as follows:
- The Administrator of the Group sends an email invitation from the Group dashboard's Members tab, or shares an invitation link on your company's platform.
- If you already have an existing account within DataCamp, that invitation will automatically enroll you into the Group.
- If you do not yet have an account with DataCamp, that email invitation will prompt you to create one before joining the Group.
Use the Correct Email Domain
To successfully join a group, you must use the same organization email domain that was used to invite you.
Example:
If you work for DataCamp and were invited to join a DataCamp group, you need to log in with your DataCamp-associated email (e.g., bot@datacamp.com). This ensures that your access is properly recognized when joining via a shared link or email invitation.
Common Error Messages & Solutions

Cause:
This error occurs when you try to accept an invitation to a group that you are already a member of. Since you’re already in the group, there's no need to claim the invitation again.
Solution:
- Verify Your Membership: Go to Account Settings and check your subscription status to confirm your membership.
- Ensure the Correct Email is Used: If you’re unable to access the group, ask the group admin to resend the invitation to your preferred email.
- Check for a Notification to Join: If your email is already associated with an account, you may see an in-app notification prompting you to join. Click on the notification to complete the process.

Cause:
The invite link you followed is either invalid or has expired.

- Request a New Invitation: If the issue persists, ask your organization admin to send you a new invite.
I have joined my group, but I'm being asked to upgrade
If you are already part of a group, but you can see the "Upgrade" button, it's possible that you have not been assigned a license yet. Please get in touch with your group admin so they can switch your license type from Basic (free) to a full license to resume your learning.
