New Practice Workouts for All Courses
We’re excited to share that DataCamp has expanded practice coverage across our entire content catalog. Over the past few months, we’ve been rolling out new AI-powered practice workouts, and you can now practice with all of our courses, by visiting the Practice section: https://app.datacamp.com/learn/practice
How to Access Practices
You can easily access practice through a couple of different places, both on desktop and mobile. Choose from the available exercises to begin practicing:
- On the Practice page, where you can filter exercises by topic
- In the Course Dashboard, where practice appears for individual chapters
- In My Activity, next to courses marked as In Progress
- On the home page of your DataCamp mobile app
- In each course, there are practices available for each chapter
How do Practice sessions work?
Our new practice system uses AI to generate exercises directly from course content. When you complete a chapter or a full course, DataCamp creates a personalized Practice workout using the same material you just learned, including lesson content, examples, and learning objectives. These workouts are generated using a large language model and are designed to help reinforce the concepts covered in the course.
Each session includes a series of quick exercises. You’ll receive instant feedback as you work through them, helping you identify areas to improve.
Each workout usually contains five exercises and is available in two formats:
- Chapter-level practice, focused on a single chapter you’ve completed
- Course-level practice, covering the full course for broader review

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Are the practice exercises available for all courses?
As of 2026, yes, all courses have practices for DataCamp learners to reinforce their knowledge.
What types of exercises are available in DataCamp Practice?
DataCamp Practice includes various types of exercises such as:
- Fill-in-the-blanks
- Multiple-choice questions
- Coding challenges where you write code directly
Do I need to complete a DataCamp course before practicing?
No, you can start practicing exercises without having completed a course. However, practicing the exercises after completing related courses will help reinforce the concepts you've learned.
How often should I practice?
For the best results, we recommend practicing daily. Building a consistent practice routine and maintaining a daily streak will help you make faster progress. Even short practice sessions each day can lead to significant improvements in your data science skills over time.
How much XP can I earn from practice?
You earn up to 250 XP for each practice session you complete. This XP helps you track progress and stay motivated as you reinforce your skills.
Repeating the same practice session is a great way to reinforce your skills. However, XP rewards may decrease with repeated completions to encourage continued learning and exploration across new topics.
Can I customize the 'Review' button on the Learn page to show only specific topics or languages, like only Python or only R?
Currently, the "Review" section shows all completed lessons across all topics and languages, with no option to filter by specific languages. However, you can use the Practice page to filter by language and focus on a specific topic, such as Python or R, for your practice sessions.
