Who’s Eligible:
You must have an active GitHub Student Developer Pack.
You have not activated this offer before.
The offer is valid for students who are not already on a paid DataCamp plan.
No payment or credit card is required for activation.

Steps to activate

Before you proceed with the activation, please ensure that you have created your DataCamp account under the same email as your GitHub account:
1. Make sure you have an active GitHub Student Developer Pack.

2. Visit the DataCamp GitHub activation page:
If you’re not signed into GitHub, follow the prompt to log in using your GitHub credentials. You can access the sign up portal here.
• Authorize GitHub to access your DataCamp account.
3. Sign Up for DataCamp’s Free 3-Month Subscription
After linking your accounts, you’ll be able to sign up for a DataCamp subscription with three months of full access at no charge by completing the DataCamp checkout form.
Will I be charged when activating Github Student Benefits?
No, you won’t be charged for this program, and you do not need credit card information to activate GitHub Student Benefits.
What happens after 3 months?
After the three-month free access period, you will lose access to DataCamp’s course library unless you purchase a subscription. If you subscribe later, all your DataCamp progress will be saved, and you can pick up where you left off.

What happens if I want to upgrade during my trial?
In this case, the free access will be replaced by the new paid subscription you are trying to purchase. Please note that the unused remaining time of the free access benefit will not carry over, so it's highly recommended to wait to upgrade after the three-month benefit ends.
Troubleshooting activation issues
If you’ve followed the steps above but still can’t activate your free access:
Double-check that your GitHub Student Pack is still valid and hasn’t expired.
Ensure you're logged into the correct GitHub account linked to your Student Pack.
Make sure your GitHub email matches your DataCamp account email.
Try using a private/incognito browser window to avoid cached login issues.
