What Happens When a Classroom Group Expires?

Classroom groups are valid for one semester, lasting six months from the start date. After this period, the Classroom subscription expires. To continue using the Classroom subscription, the instructor (group’s admin) must apply for a new Classroom group by submitting a new application here

What Happens When a Classroom Group Expires?

  1. Loss of Access to Premium Content: All group members will no longer have access to premium content on DataCamp.
  2. Locked Group Features:  Features such as assignment reports will no longer be accessible, preventing the admin from accessing assignments and other group management functionalities.
  3. No Re-activation/Extend Option: Re-activation or extending an expired subscription is not possible. If the admin wants to maintain access to the same class, they must create a new group and manually invite all the members to join the new group.

Essential Actions for Admins Before the Group Expires

  • Record Assignment Reports: Admins should record all assignment reports before the subscription expires to avoid losing access to this data.
  • Check Group Expiration Date: Before assigning any assignments, check the group expiration date to ensure continuous access to DataCamp’s premium content and Classroom features for your students.
