Why my students in the Classroom Groups don't have access?

Background: Before a Classroom group's start date, there may be no active license, resulting in members having basic access by default. In such cases, the Learn status remains "Basic," and the DataLab status is set to "Starter." To avoid manual adjustments, the group admin must invite members only after the group's official start date.

The group admin can manually change the member subscription status by following steps:

  1. Navigate to the member tab on the right within the group interface
  2. Under the column "Learn" and "DataLab", click to update the status for each member from "Basic" to "Classroom" and from "Starter" to "Classroom".

My Classroom has been renewed, but my students still don't have access

When a Classroom is renewed, the group admin must migrate the students from the expired Classroom to the newly created one. During this transition, learners can experience access loss, or they might hit a paywall. This will be fixed when they are incorporated into the new Classroom and a license is assigned to them.

My students are hitting a paywall

If you have already assigned a license to your students and they are getting a prompt to upgrade to see more content, it's possible that they are logged in with a different email. In these cases,  ask them to double-check the email address they are using to log in. More details can be found in this article: Start Here: Troubleshooting Access to Courses on DataCamp
